Ian is a successful managing consultant and business development professional with 35 years of involvement in the cybertechnology and digital security sector. Since 2011, Ian has utilised his skill and understanding to grow Identity Methods into a specialised, high-value consultancy and service delivery organisation. He now leads an established solutions and professional services provider catering to a variety of clients – from multinational, blue-chip organisations seeking to ensure continuity and competitive strength, to ambitious start-ups looking to improve their security and organisational posture.
Ian leads Identity Methods’ product and service selection and its strategic partnerships – and with a business-first approach to client requirements, he still rolls up his sleeves and gets involved in programmes and deliverables. When he’s not eating, sleeping or working, he likes to ride his mountain bike, build guitars and play them at open mic nights.
Oliver Sothcott

Projects and Programmes Director
Oliver is an experienced project manager from a professional services background. He has vast experience delivering globally significant software projects from conception to completion across a wide variety of sectors, using Agile, Waterfall and Prince2 methodologies. He is commercially astute, working at all levels within organisations to build stakeholder management. The organisations whose projects he has delivered have strengthened automation and lowered systematic breaches, reducing the strain on IT and service desk resources. A proven mentor, Oliver believes in pushing talent to the next level and creating collaborative cultures to support the growth of the business.
When not working, Oliver is a successful fundraiser, having raised over £1 million for local charities. He also likes to spend time tinkering with the house, and, when the sun shines, driving around his old supercharged Mini Cooper convertible.
Dr Asad Ali
Dr Asad Ali
Innovation Manager
Asad is a skilled researcher and innovator in the fields of access control, authorisation and access management. He obtained a PhD in 2016 whilst working on multiple large- and small-scale national and global projects in academia. Initially lecturing and researching before transitioning to industry in a hands-on developer role in fintech, Asad has vast technical and professional know-how. He is currently busy creating the next generation of IAM products, also leading consultancy project delivery, product portfolio management and academia-industry engagement.
He holds a vast list of memberships, certifications and executive positions, including the British All-Party Parliamentary Group on Digital Identity, UKRI Peer Review College, EPSRC, BSI Standards Development Board, IETF OAuth, Kantara UMA and the Decentralised Identity Foundation.
Outside of work, Asad enjoys travelling and going on long country drives with his wife. He is also an avid fan of Studio Ghibli and Nintendo and spends a little too much time following the video games industry.

Craig has many years of experience working with customers supportively and with a passion for his role, striving to deliver maximum value and success. A proven problem-solver and product expert, he prides himself on being a safe pair of hands, rationalising service problems by taking a bird’s-eye view and calmly deciding on next steps.
Craig has the proficiency to make the technical seem straightforward and the complicated seem serene. He knows that, when it comes to the services that clients use, curing the symptom may not cure their problem – so he works evenly and methodically to fully diagnose difficulties and enable optimum performance.
Outside of work, Craig is an enthusiastic National Trust member. He also enjoys helping out the local food bank at his local church and in winter, he takes part in teams in his local community to assist the homeless.
Arthur Bigeard
Arthur Bigeard
Senior DevOps Consultant
Arthur is an experienced software engineer with a wealth of experience in Identity and Access Management. He particularly specialises in Single Sign-On and client-side encryption solutions.
He has a passion for working and learning from all aspects of the business and won’t shy away from a sales call or a marketing event, nor from more technical, deep-dive conversations.
He enjoys problem-solving and delivering technical solutions using an Agile methodology. Arthur also mentors a team of more junior developers and designers, acting as a main point of contact for technical implementations and software-driven, innovative answers to our clients’ security needs.
Outside of work, he enjoys playing video games and calisthenics training, as well as visiting his family back in France.
